gown theory
Gown Theory was founded by Jo Magiy with a clear idea of what she wanted to bring to the UK bridal market: exceptional gowns with presence, movement and a genuine point of difference.
The business grew from Jo’s desire to find bridalwear that felt less predictable.
Gowns with movement. Glamour. Strong silhouettes. Beautiful construction. And above all, designs that have a presence of their own.
Jo wanted to work with designers offering a genuine point of difference, particularly at the higher end of the market, where an increased price point should be reflected in the design, craftsmanship and overall experience of the gown.
a different kind of bridal agency
Gown Theory is built for independent boutiques, and Jo wants it to feel that way.
Warm, approachable and straightforward, with honest conversations, transparency and the kind of relationship where picking up the phone never feels difficult.
Jo is also a venue owner (Salt House in Staffordshire) so she remains immersed in the wedding industry every week. She sees brides, suppliers and celebrations first hand; watches new ideas emerge; and understands how tastes are changing beyond bridal fashion alone. That wider perspective brings something different to the relationship between agent and stockist.
There is no interest in simply filling rails.
Gown Theory is about finding creative, beautifully made bridalwear for independent boutiques looking for something their brides won’t see everywhere else and building lasting relationships with the stockists who share that vision.
